How to create and use a Google Forms Trigger in my publication?

This feature is exclusive to PLATINUM accounts. If you are a BASIC or PREMIUM user and wish to avail this feature, please upgrade your account.

Triggers automatically activate a specific action at the right time. On Calaméo, you have the choice of three key moments to trigger an action: at the publication opening, at the download, or at the publication's printing.

Prerequisite

First of all, in order to create and use a Google Forms Trigger for your publications, it is essential that Google Forms is integrated into your Calaméo account. Click here for instructions.


How to create a Google Forms Trigger?

Click on your account avatar in the top right-hand corner to access the navigation menu:

You can use and manage Triggers by clicking here:

To create a new Trigger, click the "+ New trigger" button in blue.

In the window that opens, select "Google Forms". Triggers - Google Forms.png

In the modal that opens, name your Trigger, describe it and type the form URL you want to use.Triggers - Google Forms Setup.png


How to use a Google Forms Trigger in my publications?

Once your Google Forms Trigger created, you can now use it in your publication.

To do so, go to the Publications management page of your account:

Place your cursor on the publication in which you wish to use your Trigger and click on the Properties icon:

In the modal that opens, go to its Triggers tab.

Here you can configure up to 3 different types of Trigger for your publication.

Add a Trigger on "Open"

This option displays the selected content when your reader opens the publication.

Select "Open" from the drop-down menu, then click on "Add".

You can then choose to display this Trigger "Once" or "Always".

Add a Trigger on "Download"

This option displays the selected content when your reader clicks the download button of the publication.

Select "Download" from the drop-down menu, then click on "Add".

You can then choose to display this Trigger "Once" or "Always".

Add a Trigger on "Print"

This option displays the selected content when your reader clicks the print button of the publication.

Select "Print" from the drop-down menu, then click on "Add".

You can then choose to display this Trigger "Once" or "Always".

Once you have configured your Triggers, click on the green "Publish" button to finalize everything.
