How to create and use a Mailchimp Trigger in my publication?

Triggers automatically activate a specific action at the right time. On Calaméo, you have the choice of three key moments to trigger an action: at the publication opening, at the download, or at the publication's printing.

Prerequisite

Firstly, to create and use a Mailchimp Trigger for your publications, it is essential to integrate Mailchimp with your Calaméo account. Click here for instructions.

 
How to create a Mailchimp Trigger? 
 
You can create and manage Triggers in the Settings  tab of your account.

 

Click on Triggers  in the left menu. To create a new Trigger, click the "NEW TRIGGER" button in blue.

In the opening window, select "Mailchimp".

In the modal that appears, give your Trigger a name, describe it, and select the associated signup form.

How to use a Mailchimp Trigger in my publications?

Once you've created your Mailchimp Trigger, you can now use it in your publication.

To do this, go to the Publications  tab of your account. Publications Tab_EN.png

Hover over the publication where you want to use your Trigger and click on the Pencil icon.

In the modal that opens, go to the Triggers tab. Triggers - Publication Tab.png

Here, you can configure up to 3 different Trigger types for your publication.

Add an "On Open" Trigger

This option displays the selected content when your reader opens the publication.

Select "On Open" from the dropdown, then click "Add".

 

You can then choose to display this Trigger "Once" or "Always".

Add a "Download" Trigger

This option displays the selected content when your reader clicks on the publication's download button.

Select "Download" from the dropdown, then click "Add".

You can then choose to display this Trigger "Once" or "Always".

Add a "Print" Trigger

This option displays the selected content when your reader clicks on the publication's print button.

Select "Print" from the dropdown, then click "Add".

You can then choose to display this Trigger "Once" or "Always".

Once you've configured your Triggers, click the "Publish" button in green to finalize everything.
