What is Google Maps?
Google Maps is an online mapping service that allows you to view detailed maps (roadmap or satellite), locate addresses, and explore a territory at different zoom levels.
How do I integrate Google Maps with my Calaméo account?
You need an active Google Cloud Console account for this integration. More details can be found here.
Click on your account avatar in the top right corner to access the navigation menu:
You can use and manage Integrations by clicking here:
To add a new integration, click the blue "+ Install" button.
In the window that opens, select "Google Maps".
Then enter your Google Cloud Console API key.
The API key is provided by the Google Cloud Console.
You can get your key from the Google Cloud Console dashboard at https://cloud.google.com/cloud-console.
Note that Calaméo will need to access the following Google APIs for the integration to work properly:
- Geocoding API
- Maps JavaScript API
It is also highly recommended to add the HTTPS referrer restriction specified in the modal to your API key, in order to limit which websites are allowed to use it.
By default, API keys are unrestricted. Unrestricted keys are not secure because they can be used by anyone, from anywhere.
