After launching the Automatic Link Detection feature or using the Custom Matching, some links may not be added to your publication.
This may happen if the text in your publication cannot be properly analyzed or if it differs from the one entered in your Custom Matching file.
The link is embedded in an image
Automatic Link Detection applies only to the text of the publication. It cannot analyze the content of images.
Even if you see a link in your publication (for example: www.mysite.com/catalog), it may actually be part of a visual.
This may happen if:
- your document is a scan;
- the link is embedded in a banner or button;
- the text was converted into an image during export from layout software.
In this case, the text cannot be detected and no link can be created.
The text in the publication is different from the one in your Custom Matching file
The Custom Matching feature allows you to create a link from text found in your publication using an imported file.
For the link to be created, the text found in the publication must be exactly identical to the one indicated in your file.
If the text is slightly different (for example: a missing character, an invisible space, a line break, or a different typographic sign), the match cannot be made.
Example:
- Text in the publication: www.mysite.com/catalog-2024.pdf
- Text in the file: www.mysite.com/catalog2024.pdf
In this situation, no link will be created automatically.
