Setting up Shopping links

This feature is exclusive to PLATINUM accounts. If you are a BASIC or PREMIUM user and wish to benefit from this feature, please upgrade.

Shopping links are a feature designed to connect your ecommerce activity to your digital publications on Calaméo. With Shopping links, you can add individual product pages from your eshop to your publications and have the links open directly within the publication viewer. Readers can shop your online catalog as they browse, seamlessly.

Once added to your publications via the Calaméo Editor, Shopping links display a cart icon to let your readers know they can click to purchase.

You’ll be able to track the clicks on your Shopping links, as well as the automatically calculated CTR, in the advanced statistics of your Calaméo account.

See how to customize your Shopping links with a custom theme.

Including Shopping links to your online store in your Calaméo publications does not expose your website to security risks.

However, in order to protect your users from any potential vulnerability, we recommend the following best security practices:

  • Never allow users to enter financial information on a product page opened in Overlay by a Shopping link. All transactions should occur in a new window or new tab.
  • Never ask users to enter passwords or other sensitive personal information on a page opened in Overlay by a Shopping link. All log-ins should occur in a new window or new tab.
  • For security purposes, Calaméo publications with Shopping links should not be embedded on your own website or blog in Publication mode. Please use Mini mode to embed Calaméo publications that include Shopping links.

You may wish to insert “Framekiller” code for increased protection when using Shopping links in your publications.

Depending on how your online shop is configured, you may need to grant Calaméo permission to access your site from inside your publication.
